A small museum of cat art you can play through

Purrfecto is an iPhone and iPad puzzle game made by Catspaw Systems LLC. We combine carefully selected cat paintings and prints with tactile puzzle play, concise art-history writing, and a little feline mischief.

Who makes Purrfecto?

Purrfecto is developed and published by Catspaw Systems LLC, an independent app developer. The Purrfecto team writes and maintains the website, the in-app artwork notes, the cat-perspective commentary, and the comparison guides published on this domain.

The official App Store listing is the primary source for current platform compatibility, download price, in-app purchases, version history, rating totals, and Apple’s displayed privacy label.

How do we choose the cat art?

We look for artwork in which the cat is visually or narratively important. A work may be a formal cat portrait, a domestic scene shaped by a cat’s presence, a print built around feline behavior, or an iconic design such as Steinlen’s Le Chat Noir.

We also consider puzzle quality. Strong changes in color, texture, brushwork, pattern, and pose give players useful visual clues. The resulting gallery is organized into collections connected to countries and artistic traditions rather than an undifferentiated image catalog.

How is the art-history content reviewed?

Each English-language catalog entry records the artwork title, artist, date or approximate date, period or style, medium where available, and a short description written for a general audience. When a date is uncertain, the site uses “circa” or “c.” rather than pretending the year is exact.

The writing focuses on what a player can see: composition, color, gesture, historical setting, and the role of the cat. It is educational context for the puzzle, not a substitute for a museum catalogue raisonné or scholarly attribution record.
